Since moving to Los Angeles in late 1999, Carlos Villalobos has become quite a multi-faceted musician writing music for rock and pop projects to scoring films and commercials to recording his own material on his own label.  Hailing from Chicago, he is a multi-talented artist, producer, songwriter and mixer who also sings, plays guitars, keyboards, drums, and bass on all his music.  He is currently based out of his private recording studio in Los Angeles, CA.   Besides being the founder of his rock band ANGRY CHIWAWAH, he also founded the electronica infused project INNERFACE, and the critically acclaimed, Grammy nominated, la ESPERANZA, incorporating Spanish and Flamenco guitars with global dance grooves.  
 
He has also written & performed music underscores for movies such as ‘Warzone’, ‘Blood Brothers’, & ‘Diablo’ and has scored four HBO movie specials.  Carlos wrote, produced, performed and mixed the theme song, “Let Me Be The One”, as well as the original music for the television series, Baywatch Hawaii. He wrote additional music cues for "Shall We Dance" (Miramax), Wes Craven's "Cursed” (Miramax), "One Way Ticket" (Valley of the Kings Productions - Canada (which he also acted in), “Her Best Move” and "Paula", the first film for Menagerie Films for Robert Title and George Tillman, who later directed "Soul Food", “Men of Honor” and “Barber Shop”.   He continues to write and produce original music for motion pictures, commercials, corporate videos, independent movies, movie trailers, industrials and video games.  He is regularly tapped to perform, write and/or produce demos for virtually every label including Jive, Warner Brothers, Virgin, EMI, Capitol and Geffen and contributes music to television shows including CSI, Threshold, Close To Home, Laguna Beach, North Shore, The O.C., Smallville, among others.

He also won an IBA Award presented by the Hollywood Radio and Television Society honoring the world’s best radio and television advertising of 1999 for “Kaneohe” (Murata Creative), a spot which was written/produced/performed while working in Hawaii and is a HOKU Award Winner (Hawaiian Grammy) for “Best Reggae Album of the Year” 2000 – Iron Youth (Oshen). He played guitars on Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone” remix by R.Kelly as well as countless demos for Jive Records (Backstreet Boys among others). 
 
He has toured with many bands throughout his career and recently completed a tour with ANGRY CHIWAWAH.  He has also written, produced, and performed countless projects on independent and major labels and owns his own record label, Alistar Records.
